Wang Jianlin, chairman and founder of the Dalian Wanda Group, says his firm is in talks with a number of major hotel chains for potential mergers and acquisitions in its bid to enter the U.S. lodging market. "[W]e're in negotiations with the city governments of Washington, D.C., New York and other American cities for the construction of hotels, department stores and commercial properties," Wang said. The China-based firm is also negotiating with several Hollywood movie companies to co-produce films.
