Boyd Gaming won't restart construction on Echelon, hopes for Station

Boyd Gaming will not resume construction on the Echelon project in Las Vegas for at least three years, officials said. Work stopped on the project a bit more than a year ago. Meanwhile, Boyd is attempting to purchase a portion of bankrupt Station Casinos for $950 million. CEO Keith Smith on Tuesday reiterated that the bid for Station was "a serious offer." He said, "We can deliver more value to the creditors with a fair offer and these assets. We believe strongly in the long-term viability of the Las Vegas market."
