FBI says facial recognition won't be added to biometric database

A senior technologist at the FBI says his agency is giving up on facial recognition technology, once considered the "killer app" of biometrics. James Loudermilk says iris prints will likely be added to federal databases containing fingerprints and DNA, but facial recognition algorithms continue to be too unreliable.
