Amid criticism, engineers consider alternative NASA rockets
NASA engineers are considering alternative designs for a heavy-lift rocket to send into space affordably amid criticism that the Constellation Program is taking too long and costing too much. Options being looked at include a rocket made from the space shuttle's external fuel tank, engines and solid-fuel rocket boosters. The engineers' findings are to be finished by Thanksgiving.
