Boeing breaks ground on South Carolina assembly plant
Boeing Co. broke ground on Friday on a second assembly plant in North Charleston, S.C., for its long-delayed 787 Dreamliner. The site, across the country from its current site in Everett, Wash., is adjacent to the factory that produces the Dreamliner fuselage and is attractive because of financial incentives and offering a nonunion work force. The plant is expected to roll out its first plane in 2012.
