With Europe's REACH regulations under review this year, a European consumers' organization wants to close the gaps in the law, writes Monique Goyens, the group's director-general. BEUC is calling for: a reduced threshold for registration from 1 metric ton to 10 kilograms; defining and establishing guidelines for nanomaterials; more effectively regulating endocrine disrupters; and addressing the cumulative interaction of chemicals from multiple exposure sources such as clothing, cosmetics and food.
