Web-privacy bill is in the works

House Subcommittee on Communications Chairman Rick Boucher, D-Va., has indicated that he hopes to have legislation that would affect the online advertising industry introduced before lawmakers' winter recess. "The key elements [of the legislation] are going to be that every Web site will have to disclose every piece of information that they collect from visitors and how that information is used by the Web site that collects it," he said.
