Diabetes diagnosis, insulin tied to increased fracture risk
U.S. researchers found that patients with diabetes had a greater risk of fractures than those without the condition. The risk was higher among patients treated with insulin, and no association was found between fractures and undiagnosed diabetes. The study, which involved 15,140 patients, appeared in the journal Diabetes Care.
