Study ties early menarche to higher BMI, waist size
Researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston found that an earlier onset of menarche was linked to higher BMI, waist circumference, and visceral and subcutaneous adiposity, though the link was not significant after adjusting for BMI. The results appear on the website of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
