Study finds two antibiotics may be unsafe during pregnancy
The most commonly used antibiotics during early pregnancy are safe, but a study found others may pose a risk of birth defects. Researchers who studied drugs used for urinary tract infections found women who had babies with birth defects were more likely to have taken two types of antibiotics, sulfa drugs and nitrofurantoins.
