Study: Surgery may address PCOS-related infertility in obese women

Bariatric surgery may help reverse infertility in morbidly obese women with polycystic ovarian syndrome, a study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery suggests. Experts said six obese PCOS patients diagnosed with infertility were able to conceive three years after having the weight-loss procedure. However, more studies are needed, researchers added.
