Heli-Expo bucks recent convention trends
While some fixed-wing conventions have been scaled back recently, this week's Heli-Expo in Anaheim, Calif., appears to be off to just as strong a start as last year's show in Houston. Matt Zuccaro, president of Helicopter Association International, says opening day has given "every indication" that attendance this year will come close to matching last year's record levels of 17,300. The number of exhibitors has grown by 12%, and 64 aircraft are on display in Anaheim this year, compared with 63 in Houston.
