80th Air Race Classic comes to a close
After completing a four-day race covering 2,359 nautical miles, a student-teacher team from Indiana State University returned home Monday with a second-place trophy and a $3,000 cash prize. "We're pretty excited and couldn't be happier," said Jessica Campbell as she arrived with teammate Victoria Dunbar in Terre Haute, Ind. "We won the college [trophy], and that is what we were really aiming for." The two women were among the 30-plus teams competing in the 80th annual Air Race Classic, which ended Friday in Atlantic, Iowa. First place went to a team from Michigan, with less than one point separating the top two finishers.
