Demand slump in refining, chemical units hurts Sunoco's quarterly result

Sunoco reported a loss in the third quarter as demand for its refining and chemical businesses continued to drop. The company posted a loss of $312 million in the quarter compared with $549 million in earnings during the same period last year.
