Refineries commit more safety violations than expected, OSHA reports

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said its inspectors are detecting more violations than expected during visits to oil refineries across the U.S. The agency has started monitoring 86 out of the 98 plants under its authority, and officials have issued citations worth $4.8 million for 930 infractions.
