Fla. teachers file lawsuit over evaluation system
Seven teachers in Florida have filed a lawsuit against the state, alleging that the system for evaluating educators is unfair and violates the Equal Protection and Due Process Clause of the Constitution. Under the system, teachers are assessed based on the test scores of some students they have never taught. In one case, a teacher was being evaluated based on the performance of students who attend a different school, and in another, a teacher was evaluated based on the test scores of older students, but not her own class.
