2,300 schools face NCLB restructuring

About 2,300 U.S. schools are failing to meet testing goals proscribed by NCLB and are either planning for or undergoing a restructuring, the most severe of NCLB penalties. "This is life and death," says John Deasy, superintendent of schools in Prince George's County, Md., where several schools are confronting restructuring. "This is very high-stakes work."
