Canadian teaching method puts students in charge of learning
Australian and New Zealand educators are visiting a Canadian secondary school to learn more about its student-led learning methods. At Bishop Carroll High School in Calgary, one of six schools that make up the Canadian Coalition of Self-Directed Learning, students decide how to tackle a particular subject. Students work independently or in groups while teachers stand by, ready to answer any questions. Down the hall, another group of students participate in teacher-led seminars.
