Enhanced tech features to raise cost of San Francisco 49ers' stadium
Over the past three years, the cost to build the San Francisco 49ers' football stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., has increased by $336 million. That figure includes the latest increase of $75 million to bring in more tech features. "Now that we've landed Super Bowl 50, we see this as a great opportunity to show the world when they come here in 2016 the future of stadium technology," said Larry MacNeil, the 49ers' executive vice president for development. The estimated cost now stands at $1.3 billion.
