Construction of the XpressWest high-speed rail line from Victorville, Calif., to Las Vegas is expected to provide $7.8 billion in economic growth and 80,000 construction-related jobs, according to XpressWest. A review of the $6 billion loan request to the Federal Railroad Administration for the project's funding is almost complete. Aside from economic and job benefits, the rail line will help reduce traffic congestion by taking more than 2 million cars each year off Interstate 15.
