Amtrak to spend $120M-$150M for box tunnel in NYC
Amtrak and Related Cos., have agreed to build an 800-foot long "box tunnel" beneath the site of the Hudson Yards project that will link Manhattan, New York and New Jersey. The tunnel "will serve as a shell for the Manhattan end of the Gateway tunnel Amtrak hopes to build later." Construction will start this summer and will cost an estimated $120 million to $150 million.
