$14B tunnels, water plan would help restore Calif. ecosystem
Construction of the $14 billion twin tunnels for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to bring water southward would help restore the ecosystem and create a net gain in the number of endangered fish, according to California water officials. The Bay Delta Conservation Plan that includes the tunnels is Gov. Jerry Brown's proposal to create a reliable source of water without harming the environment. Not all believe the number of fish would increase.
