First Cornell NYC Tech academic building to be net-zero energy
Design for the first academic building of Cornell NYC Tech in New York City has been revealed, along with plans for the 12-acre campus project. The first academic building aims for net-zero energy use through the use of solar panels and underground geothermal wells. The university plans to demolish the Goldwater Hospital at the site in 2014, after the campus project completes a seven-month approval process.
