Lawmakers divided on Massachusetts turnpike debt
Massachusetts lawmakers are divided on how far they should go to rescue their troubled Turnpike Authority. Gov. Deval Patrick wants the state to cosign the authority's $2.4 billion debt so the state's superior credit rating can help it refinance, but the Senate has passed a bill that only insures $1 billion of the turnpike's obligations.
