Device maker looks to apply fluorescence to skin cancer detection
LED Medical Diagnostics is testing tissue fluorescence technology to identify skin cancer and define surgical margins for the excision of basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The company's VELscope is already FDA-approved to help determine surgical margins with cancers and precancerous lesions of the mouth.
