Palomar is awaiting FDA approval of a non-ablative fractional laser that will be set and dispensed by doctors. The LaserScript is stronger than other retail lasers but less potent than dermatologists' lasers. The device improved sun-damaged skin in a clinical trial, and patients said they liked being involved in their own treatment, says trial leader Dr. Robert Weiss, an associate professor of dermatology at Johns Hopkins University Medical School.
