1 in 4 melanoma survivors fail to use sunscreen
Researchers looked at data from the 2010 National Health Interview Survey and found that more than 27% of 171 melanoma survivors reported never wearing sunscreen when they go outdoors for more than an hour. Compared with the general population, survivors were more likely to stay in the shade to avoid sun exposure, researchers found. The study was reported at the American Association for Cancer Research meeting.
