New cooling system immerses servers in liquid
A non-conductive liquid 1,000 times more efficient than air at bleeding away heat is the key to a new type of server being tested at the U.K.'s University of Leeds. The server, developed with Iceotope, also employs a pump at the base of the cabinet to recirculate the liquid, using water as a secondary coolant.
