Analysts: Fares low for now, but airlines are trimming capacity
Falling demand has led to a broad drop in airfares, but experts say the lower prices will likely be short-lived. According to an analysis by FareCompare.com and USA TODAY, fares on many routes are lower this year than they were last winter -- traditionally a slow time for the airline industry. "Book now and book quick," urges aviation consultant Michael Boyd, who expects higher fares by July as airlines cut available seats.
