Likely PTC extension not enough to avert 2013 losses, analysts say
The wind-energy Production Tax Credit will likely be extended either in the lame duck session or at the start of the new Congress in January, but it will likely be too late to stave off losses in the industry next year, writes Herman Trabish. The PTC will likely get a one-year extension as part of a broader tax legislation, said Jonathan Weisgall, vice president for legislative and regulatory affairs at MidAmerican Energy Holdings. "The year-to-year cycle is what we are stuck with," he added.
