4 Brazilian firms agree to supply wind power at record low price
Enerfin Sociedad de Energia, Renova Energia, EGP-Serra Azul and Bioenergy Geradora de Energia have secured contracts to sell electricity from 10 proposed wind farms in Brazil at an average price of $42.16 per megawatt-hour, the lowest price ever for wind power, according to Empresa de Pesquisa Energetica, the country's energy agency. "This is definitely the cheapest wind energy in the world," said Maria Gabriela da Rocha Oliveira, an analyst with Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
