Renewable energy to make slow but steady market gain in 2013
Experts predict that renewable energy will make slow but steady growth in the U.S. next year despite continued reliance on fossil fuels. Wind power generation will increase by 15% in 2013, while solar energy consumption will go up 28%, according to forecasts by the Energy Information Administration. Rob Gramlich, the American Wind Energy Association's senior vice president for public policy, cautioned that while wind power could have a robust future, Congress' inaction on the wind-energy Production Tax Credit will cause the industry to "fall over its own fiscal cliff and America will lose most of its wind installations next year."
