Wind projects could slow down next year if PTC expires:
Wind-power developers are planning to scale back wind projects in 2013 if the wind-energy Production Tax Credit gets axed this year, which would increase wind power rates by 30%, industry officials said. "Utilities are looking at those prices. And they simply won't buy nearly as much wind power without that credit," said American Wind Energy Association Vice President Rob Gramlich. EverPower President and CEO Jim Spencer agreed, saying that "it's really a black hole next year" and his company has "absolutely no construction plans" for 2013.
