Many breast cancer patients experience persistent pain after surgery
U.S. researchers looked at 400 women who underwent breast cancer surgery and found that 43% of them said they had mild breast pain six months after the procedure, while about 12% and 13% reported severe and moderate pain, respectively. The study in the Journal of Pain found that patients with severe pain were more likely to be young and to have less education and income.
