BBB: Don't fall for similar but fake Toyota recall number
Scammers have jumped at the chance to defraud Toyota owners seeking information about the company's recent recalls. The scammers changed just one digit in Toyota's recall-hotline 800-number and have tricked many people into calling the fake number where they will be charged and at risk of identity theft. Toyota owners should check and double-check that they have the correct number before dialing.
