Obama to small business: "You are our highest priority"
President Barack Obama said Wednesday that American small businesses are not getting the capital and credit needed to expand and create jobs. In a speech delivered at a small Maryland company, Obama announced federal programs that would let community banks borrow TARP funds at low rates and raise caps on Small Business Administration loans. "I know that times are tough and I can only imagine what many of you are going through, in terms of keeping things going in the midst of a very tough economic climate, but I guarantee you this: This administration is going to stand behind small businesses," Obama said.
