Brazilian pulp company to enter biofuels sector
Brazilian pulp and paper company Fibria Celulose plans to start making biofuels from forestry assets to lessen its reliance on pulp production, which accounted for about 94% of revenue in 2011, CEO Marcelo Castelli said. The company, in partnership with U.S.-based Ensyn Corp., expects to open a wood-to-fuel plant in Brazil in 2015.
