Nanotechnology might boost antibiotics' efficacy, study finds

U.S. researchers found that an aerosol spray of antibiotics enclosed in microscopic anti-microbial silver carbene complexes was effective in treating mice infected with Pseudomona aeroginosa, a type of bacteria linked to the development of a pneumonialike respiratory disease in humans. The finding needs to be validated by more studies to determine whether the technique improves drug absorption.
