GAO recommends creating agency to oversee biolabs

The Government Accountability Office called on the White House national security adviser to collaborate with the National Intelligence Council and other agencies to create an entity that would monitor high-containment laboratories. The agency would determine the appropriate number of labs, analyze risks linked to them, and develop national standards for establishing and operating such facilities, the GAO said.
