Pfizer reportedly is in talks to buy Wockhardt's biotech unit

Pfizer will proceed with its planned takeover of the biotech operations of Wockhardt even though the Indian drugmaker has not shown interest in a sale, a person familiar with the potential deal said. A second round of due diligence could lead to a buyout or strategic alliance, the source said. Neither of the companies commented on the prospect of acquisition talks.
