Third-party ad sales lift AOL's hopes for a turnaround
An asset sale and strong search and online revenue from its third-party ad network powered AOL to its best financials in eight years, with revenue up 4% to almost $600 million in the fourth quarter. AOL Networks' revenue rose 37% to $183.5 million in Q4, and overall ad revenue rose 13% to $410.6 million. "We have walked through the valley of the turnaround and have gotten to growth," said CEO Tim Armstrong.
