Atlanta public schools to outsource custodial work

The Atlanta Public Schools system says it hopes to save money by using contract workers to replace about half of its school custodians. The school system will continue employing daytime custodians at elementary schools but hire contractors for night shifts and to clean middle schools and high schools, said an APS spokesman.
