Hotels -- not department stores -- are the new retail anchors
Retail venues used to be anchored by department stores, but hotels are filling that role in some areas. The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner in McLean, Va., which is next to Tyson’s Galleria, is a prime example of the trend.
