Verizon looks to new gateways to boost FiOS speed
Verizon Communications has turned to suppliers Actiontec and Westell to deliver new gateways, which also offer more processing power, that have the ability to increase FiOS speeds in the home to to 175 Mbps. "Ultimately, with all these devices on your IP network, you'll want [them] to share media seamlessly without having to futz around with the home network," said Tushar Saxena, Verizon's director of home-networking technologies. "The home network should be transparent."
