Gary Shapiro on Forbes.com: "The Celebrity Apprentice"

CEA SmartBrief | May 14, 2012

Have you checked out CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro's latest column on Forbes.com? This week, he discusses Donald Trump's "The Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC and how it is the only show to display business and entrepreneurship in a positive light. "For a nation built on entrepreneurs, 'The Apprentice' is a welcome, educational and relevant diversion reflecting our values. The real world, whether in business, sports or politics, combines competition and teamwork, and there are winners and losers. Mr. Trump's elegant simplicity in recognizing both in the form of a quasi-reality TV show is not only entertaining, it is an important reminder that the values of business are disappearing in a society that is increasingly driven by a sense of entitlement," Shapiro writes.
