Groupe Aeroplan helps companies that value consumer loyalty reward their customers. The company was formed in 1984 by Air Canada to manage its frequent flyer program. In 2002 Groupe Aeroplan left the Air Canada nest; turning its frequent flyer program for Air Canada into a loyalty marketing program serving companies in the financial services, retail, and travel sectors. Consumers could then rack up miles in a variety of ways and choose from rewards that included airline seats, hotels, car rentals, merchandise, and experiential rewards. The company's loyalty program now includes more than 70 partners representing 150 brands. It has achieved growth by acquiring regional marketing businesses over the years.
