Will Amazon and Google come to blows next year?
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was an early investor in Google who began to see potential conflicts a decade ago when the search company launched plans to digitize product catalogs. The rivalry has since heated up, and some analysts say the two companies may be on a collision course for next year. "Amazon wants to be the one place where you buy everything. Google wants to be the one place where you find everything, of which buying things is a subset," said Chi-Hua Chien, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm.
