Security ranks high in home automation system features, CEA finds
More security peace of mind ranks highly in the wish list of consumers interested in acquiring a home automation system, along with smoke detectors and entrance/exit alerts, according to the Consumer Electronics Association, which noted that only 1.7 million residences currently have home automation systems. "The more consumers know about home automation, the more likely they are to adopt the technology in their homes. Our industry must work together to develop clear product descriptions and educate consumers about what these technologies can do in order to increase adoption of these systems," said Rhonda Daniel, CEA's market research manager.
