China wants more CE companies to grow like Huawei, Lenovo
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is pushing to consolidate electronics manufacturers in that country, hoping it can produce five to eight companies with at least $16 billion in annual sales in the next three years. Only Huawei Technologies and Lenovo Group currently meet that benchmark, and the consolidation is expected to sweep up underperformers, such as TCL and ZTE, this analysis notes.
