Motorola, Verizon Wireless take wraps off the Droid
Motorola and Verizon Wireless announced Wednesday that the much-anticipated Droid handset would hit the market Nov. 6. The $199 handset operates on Google's Android 2.0 software and is poised to battle the iPhone for market share. The Droid will be heavily promoted by Verizon, its exclusive vendor. "The marketing campaign that will support the Droid will be the largest in our history," Verizon Chief Marketing Officer John Stratton said.
